| British Open Championship Finale
The first Ipswich SCC open meeting ever was held on 20th & 21st March and inspite of the short preparation time, was a great success.
Fourteen drivers made the trip to rural Suffolk, including not only some of the country's top names but also, one long retired local competitor.
Congratulations must go to James Cleave who won both the Saloon and Sports events and "Team Harwood" who dominated Grand Prix (perhaps benefitting from some club night visits earlier in the year!). B Grade winner was Dave Coward with a terrific second place in Saloon and fourth in Sports while a long retired racer, John Goldsmith (now a keen model aviator), took the C-Grade honours.
Being the final round of the 2003/4 BOC the meeting ended with the presentation of the annual awards and in his absence, Brian Saunders was crowned the BOC Champion. Ipswich club racer, Alan Humphreys, did extremely well to win the C-Grade Championship and Ian Barker was the B-Grade Champion.
The team of club members who organised and ran the meeting should, also, be congratulated. Jim, Alan, Neil and Gary did a great job and their new found expertise will be invaluable in running next year's event! And finally, a big thank you to our sponsors, Brentwood Communications and Streakers.
