Suddenly we are back racing again every week and there seems little time for writing web reports. This is definitely not a bad thing as the opening of the new track has seen a rise in membership to the point that a recent club night had a turnout of 20 drivers on the grid. This caused a small amount of concern as we only had race systems for a maximum of 18! This has now been remedied with new systems capable of being reduced from 3 heats per driver to 2 if time becomes a problem. Many thanks to John Davis for bending his mind round that one!
1/24 Teamrace
A new departure for the club this year has been 1/24 scale racing. It was agreed at the last AGM to run an exploratory team race using basic Parma 1/24 cars. Although the event was poorly supported due to being in the middle of the summer holidays it was deemed a great success. The cars were supplied by Jim O'Sullivan and we only managed to wreck two! It's hoped we can expand this racing next season as these cars seem well suited to the bigger circuit and the team race format makes a pleasant change.

Concours Events
Throughout the season the club holds four concours competitions, one in each class. The standard of bodies presented for these events can vary dramatically but as the points gained go towards the annual Club Championship it's always worth entering.
First two events to be staged in this year's shortened schedule were for the Sports and Formula 1 classes.
