Last Basement Meeting October 2002

Basement track Wednesday 23rd of October will be the last racing meeting of the club at the Grimwade Memorial Hall. The sale of the church hall has finally gone through which means, sadly, that an historic era is about to come to an end.

The club has met at the hall since 1979 and members past and present have etched their racing deeds into the ancient brickwork in the basement. Whatever happens to the building now it is certain that it will be a quieter place without the scream of minature electric motors and the cries of hard done by drivers!!

We leave behind good memories but we are taking the track with us! The new track is well under way but the old track will go into storage and be available to anyone who can give it a good home. You'll need a area 9 x 3.5 metres for it but with some mods it could be the basis of a smaller circuit. Please contact the club if you want a piece of East Anglian slot racing history!

From Wednesday 6th November the club will be meeting at Serene Screens, Unit 4, Walnut Tree Farm, Main Road, Henley, IP6 0QS

Bring your work clothes, we have a track to build!!
